how to use infrared receiver in macbook?
The instructions said "To pair your with your computer, hold it a few inches away from the computer and press and hold the "Menu" and "Next" buttons at the same time.Hold the buttons down until the paired-remote graphic appears on your screen. Where is the "Menu" and the "Next" button?
On your apple remote. Look here: http://www.rubycocoa.com/files/appleremote/AppleRemoteTest.png. The Next button is marked in red, while the Menu button is the one with Menu printed on.
BTW, unless you have already paired another remote to your macbook, the remote should just work without pairing. Pairing is just needed if you have more than one mac/remote.
I don't know whether the infrared port on the macbook can be used with any other remote/device.
