Why do people see Paranoid as the end all, be all Sabbath song?
It's a great tune but it's far from their best song with the original lineup. War Pigs, Faries Wear Boots, NIB, Lord of this World demolish Paranoid. Is it because it sounds more tame than a lot of their other songs therefore making it more mainstream? I'm really confounded.

Imagine, say, 6 people talking about Rock Music but none of them knowing much about it. The last thing anyone wants is to look silly, so when Fred mentions Hendrix, Bob says Purple Haze. Dick says Led Zeppelin, Harry says Stairway to Heaven etc.
With many Bands and Artistes there are far better tracks than are known "mainstream". You picked a good example.
